halohalo.com ("HaloHalo") is a website intended to help people with an affinity to the Philippines build the community where they live and connect to individuals and groups in other cities. When registering with HaloHalo, we ask that you provide some personal information about yourself. At HaloHalo we understand that your privacy is important to you, and have established this Privacy Policy to explain how information is collected on our website, and how this information is used.

Use By Children Under 13 Years of Age Prohibited

HaloHalo is intended solely for use by persons 13 years of age or older. All persons under 13 years of age are prohibited from registering on HaloHalo.

User Information Collected by HaloHalo.com (halohalo.com)

Personally Identifiable User Information

In general, you can visit the HaloHalo website without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. Our web servers collect the domain names or IP addresses, not the e-mail addresses, of visitors. This information is aggregated to measure the number of visits, average time spent on the site, pages viewed, etc. HaloHalo uses this information to measure the use of our site and to improve the content of our site.

However, in order for you to gain access to certain features of the HaloHalo site, such as creating your HaloHalo page, and viewing other HaloHalo member pages, you must first register. When registering, users provide personally identifiable information, which may include their first and last name, email address, occupation, work skills, personal hobbies and interests, and other personal information. You may decline to share your information with us by choosing not to register on the website. Further, all registered users may opt to remove any such information from our database by contacting us and canceling their registration.

We may collect other personal information when you provide feedback, comments, engage in chat, message boards, interactive forums or participate in surveys or contests, or if you contact us offline. We may also correlate information collected on our site with data collected by our business affiliates or vendors who are listed on the HaloHalo website.

Importantly, although HaloHalo collects and retains each registered user's personal information in its database, we do not sell or market the email addresses, or any other personally identifiable information, of any registered user to any other third party. In some cases, certain users will be registering at HaloHalo in order to register their membership with an organization affiliated with HaloHalo. In those cases only, such user's browser and hard drive that allow us to tailor our site to your individual preferences, to monitor site usage, and to permit you to navigate certain parts of our site without having to re-enter information. Although some browsers may allow you to disable cookies, your browser will not be able to access our website if you choose to decline cookies.

Pixel tags are tiny graphic files that are included in HTML-encoded e-mail messages. We use pixel tags to gather information about e-mails sent our Members. When such a message is opened in an HTML-capable e-mail program, the recipient's computer accesses our server to retrieve the pixel tag file, and allows us to record and store the date and time, the recipient's e-mail address, and other standard logging information. These pixel tags may also read cookies.

HaloHalo web pages may also contain similar pixel tags that allow us to count users who have visited those pages, to compile aggregated statistics about site usage, and to deliver other services as they become available. HaloHalo pixel tags collect only a limited set of information including a cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the pixel tag resides. HaloHalo web pages may also contain pixel tags placed there by third party ad servers, to monitor the effectiveness of their advertising.

How HaloHalo Uses the User Information

Personally Identifiable Information

HaloHalo uses personally identifiable user information for the purposes of the HaloHalo website and service, including service development, processing connections between users, customizing our website, generating user profiles, and marketing analysis. We may also use the email addresses of our members to send useful information about the HaloHalo website and our services and to respond to user inquires.

Your name will be used to identify you as a registered member of the HaloHalo website, which may be viewed by anyone, registered or not (with certain restrictions), who chooses to search the HaloHalo website. Your e-mail address will not be disclosed on the HaloHalo website, nor will it be revealed to users who contact you through the HaloHalo website's e-mail forwarding service. Among others, your e-mail address may be used by HaloHalo in the following ways:

• HaloHalo Forwarding: Other registered HaloHalo members may contact you through the HaloHalo website's e-mail forwarding feature.
• Mailing Lists: HaloHalo will use your e-mail to send you periodic newsletters or targeted messages.
• Administrative Notifications: HaloHalo staff will use your e-mail address to notify you of important changes to the HaloHalo website, HaloHalo policies, or other administrative matters.

Cookies and Passive Data Use

HaloHalo may use cookie, IP address, and clickstream information to improve the content of the HaloHalo website, the quality of HaloHalo servers, to provide enhanced features to users, help us to diagnose problems with our server, to administer the HaloHalo site, and to otherwise provide the HaloHalo service to its users. We also use cookies to save UserIDs, session validators, and on user's browsers and hard drives, and may use them to provide tailored products or services to those users, as they become available. We also cross-match user information with information collected from cookies and clickstream data in order to test features of the HaloHalo website, and to better personalize our various offerings for users.

We may from time to time provide aggregate reports or statistics about our Web site traffic patterns and related site information to third parties, but these statistics will not include personally identifiable information about a user, or a specific user's online usage patterns.
Surveys and Contests

At various times we may offer surveys or contests to users. Surveys may ask for contact information or unique identifying information to increase the value of the results. Contests may require contact information or other demographic or personally identifiable information in order to determine eligibility. HaloHalo uses information collected from surveys and contests to improve its service and to notify and contact winners of various contests.

Third Party Links and Ad Servers

HaloHalo may provide links to third party websites, which may, or may not, use cookies or pixel tags. When users visit particular pages within HaloHalo, information about the user, such as a UserID may be placed in the URL, allowing customized features for the user. This will be visible to subsequent websites if you link off a HaloHalo page. We also may allow other companies, called third-party ad servers, to display advertisements on HaloHalo. Ad servers may also use these tools to compile information about where users saw particular advertisements, and to determine which ads were clicked on. We are not responsible for, or have any control over, the privacy policies of those third party websites and ad servers, and encourage all users to read the privacy policies of each and every website visited when linking directly from HaloHalo. Users should contact those third parties directly if they do not wish to receive communications from them, or do not want those third parties to collect information about them.

Legal Information Requests

HaloHalo may disclose personally identifiable user information when we have a good faith belief it is necessary pursuant to a subpoena or other judicial or administrative order, where required by law, or, at our sole discretion, where we deem necessary to respond to claims, to protect the safety of any individual or the public, to protect the rights or property of HaloHalo or any third party ,or to prevent the violation of our Terms of Service.

No Spam Policy

We at HaloHalo are opposed to spam (except the edible kind in the can). Our Terms of Service prohibit all users from engaging in any activity involving spam on our service. Violations of these policies may result in immediate termination of service and legal action against any spammer. HaloHalo's Terms of Service expressly prohibit: uploading, posting, emailing, transmitting or otherwise making available junk mail, commercial advertisements, or other form of commercial solicitation on the HaloHalo website or through HaloHalo's services. Any violation of our policies, by sending mass unsolicited email advertisements to or through HaloHalo computer systems, will use or cause to be used HaloHalo's servers, located in California and other locations. Accordingly, any unauthorized use of HaloHalo's computer systems is a violation of our policies and certain federal and state laws, including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C.  1030 et seq.), Section 502 of the California Penal Code and Section 17538.45 of the California Business and Professions Code. Such violations may subject the sender and his or her agents to civil and criminal penalties.

Security

HaloHalo uses industry standard security measures to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. While we use encryption software to protect sensitive information online, we also use our best efforts to protect your information off-line. The servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment behind a locked cage.

Although we make good faith efforts to store the information collected by the HaloHalo website in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public, we cannot guarantee complete security. Further, while we make every effort to ensure the integrity and security of our network and systems, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent third-party "hackers" from illegally obtaining this information.

Updating or Removing User Information

Registered users may, at any time, choose to correct or update the information they have submitted to us. This may be done by the following method:

1) Log in to your HaloHalo account on our website.
2) Go to the "My Account->Edit" page
3) Change or edit any of the information there, and then click the button at the bottom that says "Save Changes".

Registered users may also, at any time, cancel their account by logging into their account and using an option on the "My Account" page. When a member cancels his or her account with us, we will remove the member's personal information from our active databases. Following cancellation, we will not use a member's personal information for the HaloHalo service, though it may continue to persist on back-up media. Other information collected by HaloHalo, such as our server logs, will be maintained for a length of time appropriate to our business needs.

Opt-Out

We provide all users the opportunity to opt out of receiving future monthly newsletters from HaloHalo by visiting www.HaloHalo.com (Go to "My Account". Opt out instructions will be contained in each monthly e-mail newsletter. If the user has an active HaloHalo account, choosing to opt-out (unsubscribe) from the link within the email message will not cancel the user's account - the user's account remains active, but the user will no longer receive any monthly newsletters from HaloHalo. On occasion, HaloHalo may send out a targeted newsletter or message to certain groups of registered users. For example, HaloHalo may send out a message to all registered users in a particular region about a last-minute event in their area or to all registered users who work in a particular industry about a job opportunity in such industry. HaloHalo does not provide an opt out option for such targeted e-mail messages. However, canceling your account, as described in the preceding section, will prevent that user from receiving future monthly newsletters or targeted messages from HaloHalo.

Revisions to This Policy

HaloHalo reserves the right to revise, amend, or modify this policy and our other policies and agreements at any time and in any manner. Notice of any revision, amendment, or modification will be posted on the website, and a user's continued use of HaloHalo will signify agreement to such changes. If you do not agree to the revision, amendment, or modification, you must cancel your account as described above.

Special Note for International Users

International users, by registering with HaloHalo, agree that HaloHalo may collect, use, and transfer user information as described in this Privacy Policy. In addition, such data may be stored on servers located outside your resident jurisdiction which may have less stringent privacy practices than your own. By providing us with your data, you consent to the transfer of such data. For users residing in the European Union or other jurisdictions that provide access rights under the law, users may access their information or have it corrected or updated in accordance with applicable law, by contacting HaloHalo.
